It is always well attended by Somerville residents. It raises money for several local charities and organizations.   Financial benefits:  The race donates to Somerville charities and organizations including Somerville Homeless Coalition, Somerville High School Track PAC, Dilboy VFW Veteran's Fund and Stride for Stride. Over the past 10 years these donations have totaled over $350,000 with $32,000 in 2022.
