Dear Ms. Pomeroy: I would like to apply to become a member of the Somerville Commission for People with Disabilities. As a person with two disabilities, severe hearing loss and mobility issues, I want to be an advocate for others and also to learn more about the commission's current activities. From 1985 to 1995 I was a Somerville alderman at large and served as liaison between the board of aldermen and the disabilities commission which means I went to the commissions meeting for 10 years.
