      COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION FOR   404 Broadway Condition Assessment Plan for Restoration    PROJECT DESCRIPTION   Vida Real Church, located at 404 Broadway will obtain the services of a historic preservation architect  to prepare a condition assessment and recommended priorities for work needed to preserve and  restore the building in accordance with the Secretary of Interior Standards for Historic Preservation.  The focus of the assessment will be on the building’s exterior envelope, and interior improvements  needed to make the building safe and accessible. In addition to CPA funding, the organization intends  to contribute their own funds for a total project budget estimated around $35,000.  ELIGIBILITY  Historic Preservation: This project would preserve and restore a historic building.  RECOMMENDATION  On December 13, 2023 by a vote of 8‐1‐0 with one abstention, the Community Preservation Committee  recommended approval to City Council that Vida Real be awarded $25,000 of Community Preservation  Act funds for Condition Assessment Plan, as described in their FY24 Funding Application, from the  following account:  Category:  Open Space/Recreation  Recommended Funding Source  Amount  404 Broadway Condition Assessment  Historic Preservation Reserve  $25,000  Total  $25,000    FUNDING CONDITIONS  1. The CPA‐funded portion of the project must be initiated within three years unless extension is  granted by the CPC.   2. CPA funds will be used only for CPA eligible expenses.  3. Vida Real will install a permanent sign noting CPA funding at the completion of the project and  a temporary sign during construction.  4.
