The location contains two parcels. The primary Location: parcel is a portion of 350 Medford Street (known colloquially as the “Homans lot”), specifically along its frontage on Medford Street between the site’s eastern border and the teacher and staff overflow parking on its western portion. (The portion of the site closest to the MBTA Green Line tracks will remain fenced off for DPW storage.) The secondary parcel is the triangular green space at the intersection of Medford and Pearl Streets (252 Pearl Street). Both parcels are City-owned. There will be occasional evening activities like musical performances or similar events. There will be temporary structures Temporary Structures: like scaffolding and outdoor furniture that will be included in an Engineering Site Permit. The space will be occupied by these various structure for 24 hours a day during the licensed period. The site will be occupied by people in the hours described below. We will bring food options to a location where there is not many accessible and casual dining to residents. We will also have programming to appeal to neighbors and Somerville residents of all types. Financial benefits: This will bring revenue and exposure to small businesses that will be able to participate and sell their goods at this event.
