RE: Somerville Conservation Commission
Dear Mr. Curtatone:
I am writing you in regards to becoming a member of the Somerville Conservation Commission (Con Com). I
have recently met with the Con Com agent Kathleen Ziegenfuss for an interview and with the Con Com
Commissioners during the March meeting. The commissioners asked me to forward my résumé on to you to
request your formal appointment.
I am currently working as a civil engineer with Nitsch Engineering in Boston, MA. I have over eight years of
experience within the field and have an emphasis on site and utility design, sustainability and innovative
stormwater management (see attached résumé). I have worked on some local projects in Somerville such as
the St. Polycarp Village on Mystic Avenue.
I have been a Somerville resident since 2007 and have just recently purchased a home in the Davis
Square/Teele Square area. I am looking for ways I can give back to the community in which I now call home
and believe that Conservation Commission is an ideal place for me to help.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss my qualifications in more detail, please feel free to
contact me here at the office at [phone removed] or by email ([email removed]).
Very truly yours,
Owen M Wartella, PE, LEED® AP BD+C
