RESULT: APPROVED 189864 - Requesting Approval to Extend the Contract of TBA Architects, Inc. to 12/31/10: Mr. Boyle told the members that the city would not incur any additional cost by extending the contract. RESULT: APPROVED 189857 - Requesting Approval to Proceed with CM-At-Risk Delivery Method for ESCS Renovation Project: This program would help to stop construction delays and allow projects to be completed 3 to 6 months sooner than with the traditional design/bid/build process. The CM-At-Risk process allows the city to negotiate a no bid contract. At the end of the schematic design stage, CM-At- Risk would determine the construction cost and provide an estimate for the project. If the figures don't agree, the city is free reject the process, but would then have to begin the traditional process. CM-At-Risk is a transparent process that uses the city's bottom line in calculating the cost of a project and provides the city with the ability to see the costs. All CM-At-Risk projects are overseen by the Attorney General's Office. RESULT: APPROVED 189859 - Requesting Appropriation of $50,000 from Receipts Reserved for Appropriation- Insurance Losses to East Somerville Community School Reconstruction for an Independent Cost Estimator for the ESCS Project: RESULT: APPROVED 189861 - Requesting Approval to Extend the Contract of Symmes Maini & McKee at the Argenziano School Project to Assist with the Administration of a Grant to Install Solar Panels: The city needs time to put this out for bid and would incur no additional cost by extending the project.
