Heuston Ward Two Alderman Present Nancy Bacci Youth Programming Coordinator Present Corey Mashburn Director, SCAP Present • Discussion with Youth Leaders Ms. Bacci provided an update of the summer jobs program that ran for six weeks and employed 101 youths in both the city government and private sectors. Members of Teen Empowerment informed the members that their organization has relocated from its Pearl Street location to 165 Broadway and that they will hold an Open House to introduce themselves to the neighborhood and to recruit more teens to participate in the program. Corey Mashburn spoke about a $200,000 grant that has been extended to 2013. Mr. Mashburn also spoke about an upcoming Youth Risk Behavior Survey presentation, scheduled for November 11th at the High School Auditorium, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Somerville Cares About Prevention and the Youth program will work together on a video to help youths in the preventing of sexually transmitted diseases and substance abuse.
