Snow plowing of Magoun Square CVS parking lot
The meeting was convened to address the concerns of residents regarding the plowing of the
parking lot. Mr. Ross discussed the difficulties his company encounters removing and staging
snow while there are vehicles parked in the lot and Ms. Gaudet expressed a desire to block off
one half of the lot at a time to allow for the efficient removal of snow. There was also a
discussion regarding the parking of ZipCars in the lot and the agreement made to allow overnight
parking of 4 vans belonging to The Basil Tree.
Alderman Desmond’s motion that the City Solicitor review the city's contract regarding the use
and maintenance of the Magoun Square CVS parking lot, was approved.
Alderman Connolly’s motion that the Director of Traffic and Parking and the City Solicitor
review the Basil Tree agreement regarding the overnight parking of vans in the Magoun
Square CVS parking lot, keeping in mind the Public Utilities and Public Works Committee’s
recommendation that The Basil Tree vehicles be removed from the lot during a snow
emergency to allow for the proper removal of snow from the lot, was approved.
