RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 190156 - Requesting approval of an Ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance to amend the definition of Home Occupation and Historic Outbuilding, and amend Article 7 Permitted Uses to create and allow a Historic Carriage House Occupation with identified development standards in certain zoning districts.: Chairman White recused himself from all discussion and votes on this matter. Mr. Proakis spoke about the proposed amendment and its merits and outlined the requirements necessary for a structure to be designated as an historic carriage house. The city's Historic Preservation Commission is in favor of the proposal.
Committee Meeting February 3, 2011 Land Use Committee Page 2 of 2 Printed 2/10/2011 RESULT: APPROVED 190157 - Requesting approval of an Ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance and revising the review process for Special Permits, Special Permits with Site Plan Review, and Variances.: Ms. Lamboy explained that the intent of this proposal is to streamline the process by changing the responsibilities of the Planning Board. The Planning Board will be responsible for special permits at Assembly Square (ASMD, PUD A), Union Square, Broadway and East Somerville (TOD's and CCD's). The Zoning Board of Appeals will retain authority for special permits and all other zoning districts and has sole authority for issues of variance. The Zoning Board and Planning Board are in favor of the proposal. RESULT: APPROVED 190644 - Requesting approval of two Grants of Easement for the Fire Dept. at 266 Broadway.: Attorney Barry Scheer, representing the owners of the parcel in question, explained the reason for the grant of easement. RESULT: APPROVED
