The committee stressed the importance of getting traffic plans to detail officers to ensure that they are complied with. Alderman Connolly’s motion that the Traffic Engineer and other appropriate officials, meet to prioritize a plan to communicate traffic plans to detail officers, was approved. 188632 - That a Representative of NStar Appear Before This Board’s Committee on Public Utilities & Works to Discuss Power Capacity in West Somerville, Anticipating the 199 Housing Units at MaxPac.:

RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 189587 - That the Commissioner of Public Works Review the Policy of Utility Companies Repaving Public Roadways Upon Completion of Utility Work and Make Recommendations for Improving the Policy or Ordinance.: RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 190074 - That the Commissioner of Public Works Direct NSTAR to Provide a Written Report Explaining Why Repeated Requests to Replace a Missing Street Lamp at 575 Windsor Street and to Repair the Street Light at 11 Joseph Street Have Been Ignored.: RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 190133 - That the Public Utilities and Public Works Committee discuss the damage done to the roof of 140 Willow Avenue by the utility companies working there.: Mr. Masci told the committee that this is not an NSTAR issue, however, Mr. Zamparelli agreed to contact the property owner to obtain additional information. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 190323 - That the Superintendent of Lines and Lights provide the Committee on Public Utilities and Public Works with an accurate listing of all double poles in the city.: RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 190371 - That the Commissioner of Public Works appear before this Board’s Committee on Public Utilities and Public Works to discuss efforts to stop automobiles from turning around in the middle of Boston Avenue at Pritchard Avenue.:

RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 190858 - That this Board’s Committee on Public Utilities and Public Works request that NSTAR Gas appear before the Committee to discuss the condition of gas pipelines in the city and any preventive maintenance being performed.: MR. Zamparelli discussed NSTAR’s plans for maintenance and improvements and asked for information on street construction. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 190859 - That the Commissioner of Public Works submit to this Board the number of emergency street openings during the past 2 years for gas line repairs made by NStar.: RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 191056 - That the Commissioner of Public Works contact the appropriate utilities to address the overloaded and low hanging wires at Somerville Avenue at Kent Street, Somerville Avenue at Linden Street, and along Tyler Street.: NSTAR representatives were made aware of a crooked pole on Kent Street that needs to be addressed and were told that the committee is awaiting an opinion regarding ADA compliance at the same location. Mr. Zamparelli will try to have the matter resolved by June 1st. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE
