A component of the application is a requirement for any contractor approved to construct or modify a driveway in the City of Somerville to execute a bond, most likely in the amount of $10,000. Additionally, a scaled drawing of the planned work must be provided. The city will make a concerted effort to apprise contractors of the new regulations and the effective date. Mr. Proakis advised that any questions relating to permits should be addressed to the Inspectional Services Department. The committee requested that representatives from OSPCD and the DPW, along with the City Engineer, present the committee with new proposals on this matter in September. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE
