Description: The event is a continuation of the Gilman
Square Block Party, which we hosted in the same
location last year. The goal is to bring local artisans,
musicians, and vendors to the area and introduce
visitors to Gilman Square.

will also bring their own tents for the tables.

Social or cultural benefits:
In coordination with the City of Somerville, this event will
both help build community around Gilman Square and
help the community articulate what the future
development of Gilmans Square should look like, in
coordination with the new T stop opening. We plan to
invite city leaders, project leaders, nongovernmental
organization leaders to come table at our event in order
to engage in outreach, education, and promotion of their
programs/agencies/projects. We will also have local
bands and plenty of activities for all ages.
Financial benefits:
We plan to invite many local food purveyors to provide
food and drink at the block party, as well as encourage
visitors to visit other local restaurants.
