Roche Ward One Alderman Present Omar Boukili Administrative Assistant Present John O'Leary Allied Council of Veterans Present • Update on filling the position of Veterans Services Director Mr. Boukili informed the committee that 12 candidates were interviewed for the position of Veterans Services Director and that 2 finalist have been selected. The mayor will be meeting with these 2 individuals and a recommendation will be forthcoming. Former Directors Frank Senesi and Walter Pero were on the interviewing committee. Mr. Boukili also stated that planned parade and firework events are on schedule and noted that Mr. Senesi has offered to volunteer his time to assist. Chairman Connolly suggested that the new director compile a census of Veterans in the city and asked Mr. O'Leary to provide the committee with the number of members in the various veterans posts in the city. Alderman Roche's motion that the Administration consider asking former Veterans Services Directors Frank Senesi and Walter Pero to be co-Chairs of the Memorial Day Committee, was approved. Chairman Connolly's motion that the Administration submit a request for the purchase of appropriate equipment, e.g., a podium and public address system, to be used for dedications and ceremonies, was approved.
