Sullivan Alderman At Large Present 192607 - Presenting the final draft of the SomerVision Comprehensive Plan.: Mr. Proakis explained that although a vote by the Board of Aldermen is not required on this item, it is being presented for the Board’s endorsement. Mr. Proakis discussed the need for residential and commercial development, the goals, policies and actions of the Planning Department, the process of planning future land use, transportation and neighborhood conservation. Alderman White expressed concern about increased residential density and the possibility of this plan being used against the City in litigation. The committee requested that additional information, including the supporting data, be sent to the Board of Aldermen along with a summary of how the data was comprised. The committee also requested that a comparison of acreage between Somerville’s Innerbelt and Cambridge’s Kendall Square be provided. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE
