There were no speakers against the item. Chairman Sullivan informed Mr. Singh that the item would be kept in committee until the Ward Alderman could be consulted. 192194 - Renewing Outdoor Seating License, Smart Tan, 258 Elm St., 1 A-frame sign.: The item will remain in committee pending information from the Inspectional Services Department. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 193041 - New Hawker and Peddler License, Francisca Morales, vending pre-packaged snacks and beverages.: The item will remain in committee pending consultation with the Ward Alderman and an appearance by the petitioner. Committee Meeting May 23, 2012 Licenses and Permits Committee Page 2 of 2 Printed 5/23/2012 193166 - Sign/Awning Permit, College Ave. Methodist Church of Somerville, 149 Broadway, Sign, canopy and lights.: Attorney Adam Dash and Reverend Justin Hildebrand spoke about the request and told the members that they have discussed the issue with the Ward Alderman, William Roche, who had no objection. RESULT: APPROVED 193168 - New Extended Operating Hours License, Jimbo's Roast Beef Seafood and Pizza, 40 Bow St., Remaining open for deliveries only 7 nights/week until 3AM.: After the public hearing was closed and the petitioner left, 3 neighbors arrived and asked to be allowed to comment on the matter. Since the petitioner had already been informed that the item would remain in committee until the Ward Alderman could be consulted, Chairman Sullivan allowed the individuals to state their concerns. Their main concerns dealt with the business' drivers backing up to avoid Somerville Avenue traffic, the use of residential parking spaces for the delivery vehicles and monitoring of the extended hours of operation. Chairman Sullivan informed these individuals, as the petitioner was informed, that the item was being kept in committee until the Ward Alderman could be consulted. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 193167 - New Hawker Peddler License, King of Slush, Vending slush.: The petitioner, John Mellone, told the members that he is seeking a permit to operate his slush push cart in the vicinity of Foss Park. The item will remain in committee until Aldermen Roche and Lafuente are consulted. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE
