It raises money for several local charities and organizations.   Financial benefits:  The race donates to Somerville charities and organizations including the Sean Collier Scholarship fund, the Somerville Track Pac at Somerville HS, the Somerville Homeless Coalition, and the VFW Dilboy Post.
