Mr. Shapiro reviewed the proposed Mobile Food Vendor Ordinance with the committee and
noted the changes made since the last meeting on this subject. The committee discussed each
section of the proposal and requested that the following changes be made:
8-305 Mobile Food Vendor License Required
•
Add language - vendor’s license must be visibly displayed during at all times
during operation
8-306 Application for a Mobile Food Vendor License
•
Add language -
if vendor’s license is revoked by the state, the vendor must
notify the City within 14 days or face sanctions for violating the City’s ordinance
8-308 Renewal
•
Change language - from “Every mobile food vendor license shall be renewed…”
to “Every mobile food vendor license may be renewed…”
8-309 Criteria for Issuance of License
•
Add language - Board of Aldermen has the authority to approve or deny licenses
•
Change language -
in the last sentence, replace the word “location” with
“approved street placement”
8-310 Conditions of Operation
•
Add language - vendors are encouraged to use composite utensils
8-311 Transfers
•
Change language in section (b) to include transfers
8-312 Enforcement
•
Add language to include police as the enforcing authority
8-313 Additional Conditions and Restrictions
•
Add language requiring that a copy of the lease, from the landlord, be provided
and submitted with the license application for vendor’s operating on private property
•
Add language listing all fees associated with new and renewed applications
Mr. Shapiro will make the changes and present them to the committee when completed.
