Alderman Desmond reported that the residents on Granite Street who are involved with the utility pole matter have hired an attorney. The Clerk of Committees forwarded a copy of an email from Tim Kelly, the Community Relations representative from Comcast, stating that he couldn’t disclose the details of the situation other than to say that the involved parties are still at the table and that the issue is very unique and complicated. The following updates were provided and discussed: * NSTAR and Verizon will work on the pole at Chetwynd Road and Curtis Street * NSTAR has 4 transfers to perform * Mr. Koty reported that progress is being made on the double poles at
Committee Meeting October 24, 2012 Public Utilities and Public Works Committee Page 2 of 2 Printed 10/24/2012 College/Winslow Avenues and College /Park Avenues * Mr. MacEachern noted concern regarding a pole at 14 Westwood Road * Alderman Trane spoke about low hanging wires on Raymond Avenue and Curtis Street RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE • Noise from Verizon Facility Mr. Nuzzo and Mr. Usovicz informed the members that Verizon will begin work on installing a noise controlling wall around the equipment in an effort to mitigate the sound. The item will remain in committee for follow-up discussion.
