Present Rob King City Engineer Present Stan Koty DPW Commissioner Present Alderman O'Donovan was appointed to the committee, for this meeting only, to effectuate a quorum. 192122 - That the Commissioner of Public Works conduct a study of Dane Avenue to determine causes of excessive flooding during rain events.: Mr. King told the members that the city is in final talks with the Union Square project contractor and that the city wants to have work done on Cedar Street and Hall Avenue. It’s estimated that a new sewer and drainage system will cost $3 million, not including Dane Street. A broader solution needs to be devised to alleviate the Dane Street and Union Square flooding problems. The city is waiting for a consultant’s report regarding other Ward 2 flooding problems, but Mr. King noted that funding is limited at the present time. The city will explore the possibility of funding that endeavor through the MWRA and the Water Enterprise Fund. The committee discussed remediation to residents for damages caused by flooding and Ms. Barrett stated that none is available. The committee will follow-up on this matter in January. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 193933 - That the City Engineer report to this Board the steps that are being taken to mitigate flooding on streets that are regularly flooded, including Simpson Avenue.:
