Mr. Usovicz expects to have more information by year's end. 191056 - That the Commissioner of Public Works contact the appropriate utilities to address the overloaded and low hanging wires at Somerville Avenue at Kent Street, Somerville Avenue at Linden Street, and along Tyler Street.: This item will be reviewed by the Ward Two Alderman. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 192644 - That the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Engineer inspect catch basins and roadway depressions on Adrian Street and take action to restore structural integrity and address problems of overflow.: Mr. Koty believes that the catch basin problem has been taken care of but he will review the situation with the City Engineer and report back to the committee.

Committee Meeting November 28, 2012 Public Utilities and Public Works Committee Page 2 of 3 Printed 12/6/2012 RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 192811 - That the Director of Communications appear at the next scheduled meeting of the Committee on Public Utilities and Public Works.: RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 193750 - That the Commissioner of Public Works add the double poles at College Hill Avenue, Raymond and North Streets, Conwell Ave (between Curtis and Hillsdale), Chetwynd Road, Curtis Street and 9 Granite Street to his utility company “double pole” list, and that the Superintendent of Lines and Lights appear at the September 19, 2012 meeting of the Public Utilities and Works Committee.: Mr. Koty reported that there is still more work that needs to be performed and Mr. Usovicz believes that these poles to not involve Verizon. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 193752 - That the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Engineer appear at the September 19, 2012 meeting of the Public Utilities and Works Committee to report on the failure of the utility companies to re-surface streets after opening them.: RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 193754 - That the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Engineer appear at the September 19, 2012 meeting of the Public Utilities and Works Committee to report on Cedar Street sewer and drainage issues.: RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 193871 - That the Commissioner of Public Works resolve the drainage problems at the foot of Newberne Street, south of Morrison Avenue.: Mr. Koty stated that the property owner is responsible for rectifying this problem since he did not follow the plans that were submitted to the city. Committee Meeting November 28, 2012 Public Utilities and Public Works Committee Page 3 of 3 Printed 12/6/2012 2012-193976 - That the Commissioner of Public Works repair non-working street lamps citywide.: Mr. Willardson and Mr. Hadley Outlined the process followed when a report is received about a defective street light and stated that the allowed repair time is five business days, noting however, that mechanical problems may take longer than five days to repair. Mr. Trotta explained that his company could do additional work if the city agreed to it. Chairman O'Donovan requested Mr. Willardson to provide the committee with a list of the 9 pole locations experiencing mechanical difficulties. Mr. MacEachern informed the members that there are eleven poles with conduit problems and Chairman O'Donovan requested that a list be provided to the committee of the locations of all poles with no power, as well. Chairman O'Donovan stressed the importance of maintaining a comprehensive listing of inoperable street lights and requested that such a list be complied, detailing the problem with each outed light and who is responsible for the repair. Alderman Trane pointed out that there are four street lights out in his ward that are not on any report and he requested that Constituent Services (311) complie a list of all outed street lights reported in Ward Seven.
