Revolving Fund Request - Traffic and Parking Special Event — File 194203

Traffic and Parking Special Event Revolving Fund Receipts Credited: The receipts credited to the fund would come in payments of invoices for overtime wages for predetermined personnel. This would also incur a 1% charge due to the administration and handling of the event and its parameters. This revenue would fund a Salaries-Special Event Overtime object that will be used to pay the actual revenues of the personnel. Monies will be collected prior to the event in order to pay personnel in a timely manner. FY 13 Spending Limit: $60,000 Authorized Officer: Traffic and Parking Director Programs/Services/ Activities Funded: This revolving fund would fund and pay overtime wages and administrative fees for salaries attributable to processing, implementing, and executing a permitted event in the City of Somerville. Events held in the city require restrictive signage, bagged meters, street closures, parking enforcement, interdepartmental planning/meetings, clean-up, etc. The constituent(s) planning the event would pay the overtime rate for the Parking Meter Technicians, Sign Technicians, Parking Control Officers and all other applicable administrative fees for management consultations. The Director, Parking Clerk, Senior Engineer, and Accountant suggest that a 1% administrative fee to be administrated at their discretion on the amount charged for the oversight and management of hourly personnel. Revenue paid for signage and bagged meters would continue to fund revenue accounts.
