- 1 - CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 2013-10 IN THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN: November 14, 2013 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP TO PLACE ADDITIONAL LAND ON PROSPECT HILL INTO THE CCD-55 ZONING DISTRICT. THIS AMENDMENT WILL CHANGE THE ZONING OF PARCELS 93-B-1, 93-B-4 AND 93-B-27 ALONG THE WESTERN SIDE OF MCGRATH HWY FROM BUSINESS B TO CCD-45 WHEREAS, the proposal is consistent with the comprehensive plan previously approved by the City; and, WHEREAS, the City desires to replace incompatible and environmentally unsound uses including auto related uses with appropriate-density, compatible mixed-use development; and, WHEREAS, mixed use development contributes to a vibrant business environment and increases street-level activities; and, WHEREAS, targeted redevelopment has the potential to strengthen the local tax base and create new jobs at a variety of income and skill levels; and, WHEREAS, the area along McGrath Highway is distinguishable and unique because it is significantly larger than neighboring properties, and is at a major intersection; and, THEREFORE, be it adopted by the Board of Aldermen, in session assembled, the Zoning Map of the City of Somerville is hereby amended with the change shown in the attached map, changing Parcels 93-B-1, 93-B-4, and 93-B-27 to CCD-45.
