White Jr. Alderman At Large Absent John M Connolly Alderman At Large Present 192122 - That the Commissioner of Public Works conduct a study of Dane Avenue to determine causes of excessive flooding during rain events.: The following orders and resolution were submitted by and approved by the committee: Order by Aldermen Heuston, Desmond and Connolly: That the Commissioner of Public Works deploy street sweepers to Dane Avenue, Kingman Road and Clark Street immediately after a flooding event; AND BE IT FURTHERE ORDERED That access to those streets be restricted to abutters only during flood event until the water level recedes. Order by Aldermen Heuston, Desmond and Connolly: That the Director of Communications implement a plan for regular communications, utilizing varied means of communication including CTY-Connect, email and direct mail, to residents in the effected areas regarding anticipation of flood events, progress from the city’s Engineering Department on projects to address Ward 2 flooding and updates from the Administration regarding long term plans related to infrastructure improvements to address the flooding issues in Ward 2. Resolution by Aldermen Heuston, Desmond and Connolly: That this Board of Aldermen requests that the Administration create a fund for mitigation for residents of Dane Avenue, Kingman Road and Clark Street, to include the purchase and installation of backflow preventers. Order by Aldermen Heuston, Desmond and Connolly: That the City Engineer and the Commissioner of Public Works inspect the catch basins at and across the street from 15 Dane Avenue for reports of running water.
