Alderman Heuston stated that she wants the business shut down in the application is not submitted by the next BOA meeting (4-24-14). RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 196304 - That the Director of SPCD (ISD) provide the Ward 2 Alderman with an update on the lack of proper licenses for all businesses at 495-497 Columbia Street.: The business id licensed. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 196401 - Public Event Permit, Vecna Cares 5K Robot Run, Davis Square area, Jun 29, 6:30AM-Noon.: Ms. Rossetti and the applicant addressed this item. RESULT: APPROVED 196408 - New Used Car Dealer's License Class II, Top Gear Motor Group, 161 Linwood Street, for 20 autos stored outside.: RESULT: APPROVED 196453 - That the Clerk of Committees notify the owners of Alewife Automotive, 395 Alewife Brook Parkway, to appear at a License and Permits Committee meeting to discuss the terms of the license.: As complaints have been received from neighbors, the committee reviewed the terms of the license and made suggestions lower the number of vehicles allowed on the property. Mr. Smiljic will review the file for vehicle locations. The applicant spoke about his understanding of the license terms. Posting NO PARKING signs at Dilboy and towing vehicles from the Dilboy lot were also discussed. Alderman Ballantyne’s motion that the permit for Alewife Automotive be amended for 90 days, as follows: 9 vehicles for garage, 20 vehicles for used cars, was approved. Alderman Heuston’s motion that the Executive Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development (ISD) visit Alewife Automotive on a weekly basis to count the number of vehicles on the property, was approved.

Pizza, 63 Union Sq., 4 tables, 8 chairs.: RESULT: APPROVED 196693 - New Outdoor Seating License, Broadway Eatery, 1157 Broadway, 3 tables, 6 chairs.: RESULT: APPROVED 196740 - Deputy Director of Communications responding to #196239, conveying a calendar of FY14 public events and providing information about the public event review process.: Ms. Rossetti discussed the process for public events and the committee discussed the fact that Somerville does not charge an application fee for public events. Alderman Heuston’s motion that the City Clerk determine the amount of public event fees charged by other communities, was approved.
