Alderman Connolly would like to include language for leased property, as well. Chairman Rossetti would like a directory of students’ addresses in Somerville. Chairman Rossetti would like the final document available for the December 3rd meeting and would like this adopted before the end of 2014. The Chair instructed the Clerk of Committees to send a letter to the presidents of colleges and universities affected notifying them of the draft ordinance and of the public meeting to be held on December 3, at 7:00 PM. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE

RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 197794 - That the City Solicitor report to this Board whether it may enact an ordinance that would prohibit elected officials from employment or contracting with the City for a specific period of time following the termination of their service.: Mr. Shapiro reached out to a number of communities and distributed copies of city charters from Melrose and Newton. Chairman Rossetti asked that the Clerk of Committees send a copies to all BOA members, the School Committee and the Superintendent of Schools. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 197875 - That the City Solicitor examine the possibility of banning online apartment rentals, as there are apartments being rented in violation of a zoning code permitting no more than four non-related residents living together at once.: It is Mr. Shapiro’s opinion that, given the way the current ordinance is written, the city can ban online apartment rentals. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED
